LEGACY SYSTEMS MODERNIZATION: |
Online and Offline (Batch Data Collection)
Designed and wrote an inventory tracking system When a user is in
range of the company's wireless network, the data would be collected in a traditional online fashion.
When the user would travel to a remote location with no network, the application would collect and
store the data until the user reconnected with the wireless network.
Dealer Quote System Migration
This project involved the migration of a Visual Basic client application
to a browser based, System i hosted application. The new application was developed using BCD’s Websmart
development tools. The application was designed to use a two-tiered architecture. One System i partition
will run the application while another will serve the database. This is the first phase of a multiphase
project that will result in a unified ERP for Utility Trailer.

Uniform Manifest
This project was commissioned because the customer was required to comply with the new EPA Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest rule, effective September 5, 2006. The new Uniform Manifest Form was developed for use in ALL States, eliminating all State Manifest Forms that currently exist. Shipments made prior to September 5, 2006 will be managed using current System i programs.
The project included the modification of more than 1400 objects. All programs and processes must behave exactly the same until September 5, 2006. After which, the programs must conform to the new rules. This project lasted about seven months.

LEGACY SYSTEMS MODERNIZATION:
(Advanced Inventory Management)
|
Aerospace and Aircraft Hardware Testing and Distribution
Direct Stock Inventory Allocation
Hardware products (nuts, bolts, screws, o-rings, washers, etc.) for
military, aerospace and aircraft use must track and report full tracability of parts beyond simple
lot-level from the original manufacturer. Part of the value-add this client supplies to the industry
is their QA and testing capabilities which extend to individual items within manufacturers' lots.
Individual item attributes and testing results must be traceable throughout the process. The client's
customers can specify the detailed attributes and requirements of the items at the time of ordering
and the entire ERP must recognize and accommodate the MRP planning, identification, allocation, shipping
verification, and tracking of all attributes.
Corporate Systems Interfacing
Interfaced order, commitment, shipping and invoicing systems between parent corporation systems and
this division's legacy systems. Allows the parent corporation's customers to place a single order for
items from multiple divisions seamlessly. Avoided the requirement for the client to replace existing
system with parent company's ERP that did not support the organization nearly as well - see above item
for an example of requirements not contained in parent company's systems.
Barcode System with Detailed Traceability
Complete inventory receiving through shipping barcode system. System provides all required documentation
and certification to meet military specifications of testing and tracking along with producing all
required barcode labels for proper item/attribute identification. Full documentation requirements are
met at the time of shipping by reproducing appropriate forms (including the
Inspector's and QA Management's signatures) along with packaging labels. The
system then validates the items being packed for shipment meet all of the
customer's requirements.
Barcoded Shop-Cart Auto Replenishment
Part-Cart remote replenishment system that allows the client's customers to use a client-supplied barcode
reader to replenish shop-carts (supply carts in repair and manufacturing work centers) by scanning the
item part and attribute information label inside the cart compartment and have the items replenished within
24 hours by our client. The scanned data is uploaded directly from the cart location and creates all
required orders and allocations in the client's ERP automatically.
Customer MRP Output to Client MPS
Created method for transferring a customer's MRP requirements output into the
client's MPS for proper planning and inventory reservation. The customer sends
their inventory levels, gross, and net requirements which is confirmed prior to
loading into the client's planning system to insure the two systems are
properly planning all parts to pre-negotiated stocking levels
at the customer site as well as available stock levels (3 months inventory)
in the client's warehouse.
